UK ADHD Service provides comprehensive support for children, including online ADHD assessments, treatment follow-ups, repeat prescriptions, second opinions, and neuropsychological testing. We also offer personalised therapy, psychoeducation, ADHD coaching, and can work with your child's GP to create shared care plans tailored to your needs. Accessing a private child ADHD assessment is simple. We offer one-to-one video call assessments with our approved psychiatrists and ADHD specialist clinicians. Below is a step-by-step guide to how our child ADHD assessment process works.

1) Book your Child's ADHD Assessment

You can book your child’s ADHD appointment quickly and easily by clicking the link below.

With no waiting times, appointments can be arranged without delay.

A confirmed ADHD diagnosis is essential to ensure your child receives the most appropriate treatment and support.

2) Fill out our Child ADHD Questionnaire

You will be asked to complete a standardised ADHD questionnaire for your child, and we will also gather information from their teachers.

This helps our clinicians build a clear picture of your child’s symptoms and needs, supporting a more accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment plan.

The questionnaire is sent by email as a secure link. Simply click the link, answer the multiple-choice questions, and press submit—it’s quick and straightforward.

3) Your Child ADHD Assessment

Your child’s assessment takes place as an online video consultation with a dedicated clinician.

It’s designed to be a relaxed, informal conversation where the clinician will explore your child’s symptoms in detail. There’s no pressure during the session, and it’s completely fine if you or your child find some questions difficult to answer—this won’t affect the outcome of the assessment.

As part of the process, the clinician will also explain the treatment options available to help manage ADHD. You’ll receive a secure video link by email—simply click it at the time of your appointment to connect with your clinician.

4) Your Child's ADHD Report

Within 10 working days of your child’s ADHD assessment, you will receive a detailed report by email. This will include:
Diagnostic outcome – confirming whether your child has been diagnosed with ADHD, and which type.
Explanation of findings – giving clear insight into the assessment results.
Treatment plan and options – outlining the recommended next steps for support.
Information pack – providing practical guidance to help you move forward with your child’s treatment plan.

5) Choose your child's ADHD Treatment Options

If your child is diagnosed with ADHD and begins treatment with UK ADHD Service, we’ll take care of everything for you.

Our team will arrange your child’s treatment, with medication delivered directly to your door for convenience. The treatment consultation is £245. Please note, this does not include the cost of medication, which is typically between £35–£55 depending on dosage.

We support your child’s growth by setting achievable goals and helping them harness their ADHD strengths in a positive way.

Child ADHD Assessments

We provide assessments and therapy for children aged 6 to 18, both online and in-person. Our experienced and approachable psychiatrists deliver NHS- and NICE-compliant assessments using the DSM-5, with the same high level of expertise and care as we offer to adults. At UK ADHD Service, we go above and beyond to help children unlock their potential and live life to the fullest.

ADHD in children often involves challenges with focus, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Common signs include difficulty paying attention, daydreaming, struggling to follow instructions, or making frequent mistakes in schoolwork. Children may also be very active, fidget often, talk excessively, and find it hard to stay still. Impulsivity can lead to interrupting others, acting without thinking, or struggling to wait their turn.

These behaviours can affect a child’s learning, friendships, and overall well-being. Early recognition and support are key to effective management. While the needs of children differ from those of adults, UK ADHD Service is committed to delivering high-quality care for every age group.

I’ve known I had ADHD for years. When I used to work in a college, my Head of College told me, and that was quite significant because I assumed he was quite knowledgeable. Fast forward a few years, I discovered self-development, therapy, and spent 10 years deep in that. A few years later, I thought, let’s get assessed. I never thought I needed to do this, especially as someone who has achieved financial success. But this time, I considered it because I realized I needed to slow down mentally and be more strategic. I did a lot of research into private ADHD clinics. What I found from places like Reddit is that most do the assessment within a week, but the diagnosis takes another week, and then nearly a month for treatment because that’s a separate appointment. Some of them are even inefficient, you still need to go to the GP for a blood pressure check, even though I can do this at home and record it on video. Then I came across Private ADHD. I booked a same day appointment, 1 PM for a 6 PM slot. Before booking, I had a few questions, which were answered quickly. Unlike other sites where you’re stuck with slow chat boxes, I got responses straight away via WhatsApp, which made things so much easier. Once I booked, they sent me a long form to complete. That actually put me at ease because I knew they were properly considering everything before making a decision. My mum even completed part of it, which added more insight. A few hours later, I was on a live call with Dr. Kooner. He went into detail, asked me a lot of questions, and of course, I already knew I had ADHD. I was very nervous about taking medication, but Dr. Kooner answered all my questions. He even referenced scientific studies I could read or watch, which helped a lot. He explained the treatment options, and the next day, I had my medication, all thanks to their private prescription and links to same day delivery pharmacies. Since taking the medication, my life has completely changed. \t•\tI’m not impulsive, I can literally sit at my desk without constantly getting up. \t•\tI’m getting tasks done without procrastinating. \t•\tMy focus at work is deep, I can lock in and actually finish things. \t•\tI’m driving sensibly instead of being all over the place. \t•\tI have so much control over my emotions. For years, I thought therapy was the key to getting my emotions in control. I didn’t need therapy, I needed medication. I used to be all about the holistic approach, but my view on medication has completely changed. Dr. Kooner made a great analogy, he said I’m like a Ferrari, going from 0 to 100 instantly, but now, I’m learning to go slower and use other gears. This has other benefits I never even considered. I’m so grateful that I can now access the full part of my brain that I never knew I could. On top of that, Dr. Kooner offers WhatsApp support, which is incredible. From appointment to treatment was less than 24 hours. I’m genuinely so thankful. If you’re thinking about getting an ADHD assessment, I highly recommend Private ADHD and Dr. Kooner.

FAQ arrow

What if I decide to take medication?

FAQ arrow

For adults with ADHD, treatment often includes stimulant medications such as Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta) and Amphetamine-based drugs (Adderall, Vyvanse). These medications help improve focus, attention, and impulse control and are usually prescribed in higher doses compared to those for children. Non-stimulant options like Atomoxetine (Strattera) are also available, particularly for adults who have additional conditions like anxiety or heart issues.

ADHD titration involves starting with the lowest dose of ADHD medication and gradually increasing it. It may take up to a week to notice a difference in your symptoms when taking the medication.

It’s common to have a few side effects with ADHD medication, but titration is how we avoid this by gradually increasing the dose. Some side effects are reduced appetite, weight loss, transient blood pressure increases, headaches and trouble sleeping.

How much does ADHD medication cost?

Medication is recommended as the first-line treatment in ADHD for adults and certain age groups in childrenwith clinically significant impairment in their life (NICE, 2008). Any medication must be considered carefully along with any health concerns or other issues that would contraindicate a trial of medication. Taking into account your diagnosis and symptoms, consideration of a trial of medication may be appropriate to determine whether this would assist you with your ADHD symptoms. Medications have been found to improve attention span, task completion and self-organisation, whilst reducing impulsivity, distractibility, and restlessness.
